I've been a wee-bit remiss in writing. I told my friend Nicole that I just haven't felt funny lately. That's not to say that funny things haven't happened...I just didn't feel funny enough to repeat the story.
Maybe my lack 'o funniness was due to the fact that my time at GAME has been coming to a close. Leaving GAME was pretty hard for me..it was like leaving the boyfriend whose purpose in your life has long since passed, but its a little like a security blanket. I mean, really, I moved across the Pacific, I broke up with him...I mean I LEFT the job...and yet, it felt pretty strange to train my replacement. Of course, I have nothing nice to say about my replacement -- I know, that is evil. It is wrong. I know. But the new girlfriend - I mean, my replacement - is fat, has no fashion sense (the UGLIEST SHOES, which is just intolerable to me) and I think perhaps...she isn't the brightest bulb in the package...and even if she is, she isn't one of those green super effecient bulbs. ANYWAY, I wish GAME the best in its new journey with HER...I really do..hope she's good behind closed doors.. I mean...I hope she is good at the financials and driving new business...I was a little taken back that she was using my long distance security code...Did she swap my face for hers in the pictures from the company picnics too?! She's got my office, my staff, my email. Speaking of which...wonder if she is using my Amex too?
She also got the incessent emails from Eric, his wildly high expectations and moods. I did kind of laugh out loud when I saw the first email from Eric to her about the PNL, which she hadn't bothered to look at.
Anyway --I know I'll miss working at GAME. But....some things I might not miss. I realized after we moved her that I have been a little tightly wound the last couple of years. I might just take a deep breath and relax...as I dip my feet in the sand.
