To Cheer me up

Ok - here it is - the two most hilarious and inane websites I have scouted over the weekend.

http://simpsonizeme.com/

This site, sent to me by my Brother in Law (Brad) allows you to upload a picture of yourself (or anyone else you have access to) and make yourself into an official Simpson Character. It takes a long time, but I am telling you - it IS worth it. That's me and my beloved (notice the bluetooth headset) in glorious Simpson's versions.

This doozey has a parody of Sex in the City, Desperate Housewives and Gray's Anatomy which are all the HILARIOUS! Check out who stars as Carrie in the Sex in the City and I think my fav on the Desperate Housewives is who plays Edie Brit in this version. Casting is impeccable and I'll never know how these ladies were convinced to play these "roles" in these soon to be "classics". Just watch them!!

And since we are wasting time online, let us return to an oldie, but a goodie:

This site is too uptight (unlike Picasso himself) to let me download my own creation, but you can see it for yourself here:

The Blues

I keep waiting for the moon to go into another house or Mars to exit or SOMETHING.

Boy, have I got the blues lately. Not sure what exactly it is... (NO - it is NOT the fact that the wedding is over) I mean, some of it has to do with a recent flurry of bad news for people I love...lately it seems like their hurts hurt me more. In one day last week, my best friend lost her Dad to a battle of cancer, a friend of mine told me he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and my brother in law lost his job in a really unfair and icky way. Work is totally uninspiring to me right now. Life seems to be dragging..I'm tired...and I don't really seem "into" much.

But on the flip side - there are some really great things happening too: I'm taking a couple of fun weekend trips in August...we have new goodness in our lives, I married my dream man..and I've got this dream-team staff at work, awesome friends... frankly, I'm a little peeved at myself for feeling so blue... after all, in the big picture of life, really, I hit the "fate jackpot" as far as I am concerned. I mean, really - someone always has it worse.

But maybe that's it.

It doesn't really make me feel better that anyone has it worse..in fact, it kind of overwhelms me.
Sometimes, when are lucky, as I am...maybe that's when you start to realize that there's more you could be doing. I'm having a battle with myself - I could volunteer...but sometimes I feel as though I don't even spend enough time with my loved ones as it is...so then I figure that I should give more money, and I feel as though nothing I give is enough.

See what I mean?

Its the blues, folks and a serious case of it.

I'll get over it - I know. I should scroll down for my own little pep talk about graduation...and how everyday is THE day. Maybe a little piece of my own advice will make me feel better.

Nah, I'll probably just be peeved at myself for that damn cherry posting.

The Luckiest Man ALIVE

I married the luckiest man alive. And not just because he married me (but thank you for going there, dear loyal blog readers.) No. I mean, this man never loses. His parking karma is unbeatable. He is balding - and yet - looks GREAT with a shaved head. He has been in 5 car accidents, none of which he was injured and to boot, none of which affected his insurance.

So. I should know better than to negotiate elements of marriage with this man simply based on luck. C'mon - you know you do it: "rock paper scissors" type of stuff for things like where you go to dinner tonight, or who drives, or who goes to the store. Well, I made a deal with the devil tonight. I wanted Jeff to go to Circle K for Diet Coke. Let me preface this with the fact that he almost ALWAYS goes..but tonight - I got a little push back. So I wrote out the numbers 1-12 on pieces of paper - and we drew numbers for which number was closest to 12. The number closest to 12 had to go the Circle K. Jeff drew first.

Yah. Guess which number he drew?

Uh - Huh. Number 1.

I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO DRAW.

Two lessons learned:
1) Luck always works in his favor: learn to negotiate better.
2) Its gonna be a LONG life if I don't learn how to negotiate better.
